Bob Norem is our Director of Music Ministries. The music ministry of Carolina Beach Presbyterian has one mission: to help members of the congregation worship God and enjoy God forever through music.

The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. and sings most Sunday mornings at the 10:00 a.m. worship service and at special services: Hanging of the Greens, Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Easter. We take a break during the summer when anthems are covered by visiting musicians. The choir is open to youth and adult participation.

No previous choir experience is necessary. The choir is a place for those who want to grow as musicians as well as those who’ve done this before. The musical styles you’ll hear in worship is quite varied: classical, traditional, and contemporary styles may all be in the same service. Most Sundays we use the organ and piano, but across the summer and special occasions during the year we may have Bluegrass from the Topsail Strings band, brass instruments, violin, viola, cello, or guitarists leading anything from old gospel favorites to praise songs.

Other opportunities to serve the church through music are also available. Let us know if you’re interested in helping. We hope to develop a children’s choir and a hand bell choir so let us know if you’re interested in participating in those or helping to facilitate them.

We would love for you to get involved in any capacity. If you would like to join us, just see Bob after service or you can contact him via the church office by calling or using our email contact form on this site. Come help us help the congregation worship God.
